| NewsPraying For Fellow Alumni Jessica Huse The VCS Community has been rallying around, and praying for 2009 graduate, Jessica Huse and the Huse family since her car accident on August 2, 2009. Huse was driving her Volkswagen beetle to Twin Oaks Church in San Jose, when she was struck by a car, as she attempted to make a left turn. Huse has remained unconscious since then, but has made slow but steady improvements at Valley Medical Center. The current students at VCS are hosting bake and bracelet sales, praying for her, and dedicating events and games in her name. This past weekend, her brother's Valley Christian Junior High School baseball game was dedicated to her, and they raised $854 for her care. There are many ways for you to support Jessica: pray, provide a meal for the family at the hospital, and donate to her foundation. Please go to Jessica's Facebook site "Jessica Huse :)" for updates from her mom, Lisa. If you are able to provide a meal, please contact alumni parent Jodi Schmidt at jschmidt@vcs.net. Mel Reynolds: 40 Years of Service The year was 1970 and Mr. Reynolds was hired to serve Valley Christian Schools as the principal at the Los Altos location. In the years that followed, Reynolds worked in many capacites: 5th grade teacher, public relations and publications, and ultimately alumni director. His most memorable moments came while ministering (disciplining) fifth and sixth graders in the elementary school. Mel shared that "Interestingly enough, those rascals became leaders in the community later on, one of them just sold my house for me." As the alumni director, Mr. Reynolds communicated with alumni through newsletters, phone calls, emails, and hosting events. He loved his job because it kept him connected to wonderful and supportive Valley families, which were a huge blessing to his heart. The house is sold and being packed this first week of November and the Reynolds' are off to an exciting new life in Manteca. The retirement community boasts fishing, softball, tennis, and a host of classes and events for them to jump into. Mr. Reynolds is looking to teach a stained glass class. As for the school he poured himself into, he congratulatates Valley Christian Schools on the plans for the Conservatory of Music and sees it as one of many ways to minister to people all over the valley. We look forward to celebrating Mr. Reynolds and his faithfulness to VCS in the spring - we look forward to having you join us! God bless you and yours Mr. Reynolds!!!
